Pink Peonies
Fine Art Print, Pink Peonies - based on original oil painting by Carlos Castano
“Painting people has always presented me with the most intriguing and exciting challenges because of the ever-changing psychological aspects of human nature and the surprising insights to the subject revealed during the painting process. The experience of painting people entails an emotional receptivity to the truth about the subject; a literal representation is irrelevant. The subject dictates the approach and the direction in which the painting will develop. Ideally, the painter strives for an active interaction with the subject.
I am also attracted to still-life and landscape painting, which are not less difficult than figure painting. The challenge is to elevate commonplace subjects to a poetic realm, to reflect their intrinsic beauty and sensuality, and to create an intimate world that awakens a personal response in the viewer. Regardless of the subject matter, be it a person, a still-life, or a landscape, my aim to convey the universal quality of the subject caught in a moment remains constant.” by Carlos Castano
The print is made with museum-grade fine art matte paper and top-tier pigmented archival ink.
